Aheloy FAQ · Cost

Is Aheloy, Bulgaria good value for money?

Aheloy consistently delivers lower holiday costs than comparable Mediterranean destinations. Bulgaria's cost of living remains among the lowest in the EU even after euro adoption on 1 January 2026. An all-inclusive week at Midia Grand Resort for a family of four typically costs significantly less than a similar-standard 3-star all-inclusive resort in Spain, Turkey, or Greece. Eating out at local tavernas in Aheloy and Pomorie costs approximately 10 to 15 euros per person per meal, which is competitive with budget dining in most European beach resorts. The short 20-minute transfer from Burgas Airport also saves on transfer costs compared to resorts that are 45 minutes or more from their airport. Shoulder season stays in June or September cut accommodation costs by 20 to 40 percent versus peak July and August rates. The main value trade-off is infrastructure: Aheloy is a village, not a large resort, so it lacks the scale of amenities that a high-volume destination like Sunny Beach, 6 kilometres north, offers. For families who want a quiet beach at a low price, the value proposition at Aheloy is strong.
