Aheloy FAQ · Seasons

How hot is Aheloy in September?

September air temperatures in Aheloy average 20 to 25 degrees Celsius with around 7 to 8 sunshine hours per day. This is noticeably cooler than August but still warm enough for comfortable beach days and outdoor dining in the evenings. The Black Sea reaches 22 to 24 degrees Celsius in September, which remains comfortably warm for swimming for most adults and older children. Rain becomes more frequent toward the end of September, with brief afternoon showers possible, though multi-day rain events are uncommon. September is widely considered the best month for couples and travellers who prefer a quieter beach: accommodation prices fall 20 to 40 percent from the August peak, the beach is noticeably less crowded, and the Pomorie Lake bird migration is at its autumn peak with flamingos and migrating species visible from the lake edge, a 25-minute walk from Midia Grand Resort. The Nessebar UNESCO Old Town, 6 kilometres north, is also more pleasant to visit in September without the summer crowds. Midia Grand Resort and most Aheloy accommodation remain open through September before closing for winter in October or November.
