Aheloy FAQ · Seasons

When does the Aheloy beach season start and end?

Aheloy's main beach season runs from late May through October, with the peak period in July and August. Midia Grand Resort and most self-catering accommodation open for the summer season in late May or early June. By late May the beach is warm enough for sunbathing and the sea reaches around 18 to 20 degrees, which is cool for swimming but manageable for adults. June marks the practical start of the family beach season, when sea temperatures reach 20 to 22 degrees and the resort is fully operational. July and August are peak season, when all facilities, beach bars, and watersports are available at full capacity. September remains fully open and is excellent for swimming, with sea temperatures of 22 to 24 degrees. October sees the season wind down: the beach is open and some warm days occur, but sea temperatures drop to 18 to 20 degrees, and accommodation options narrow as properties close for winter. Outside November to March, almost all Aheloy accommodation is closed. Pomorie spa hotels, 7 kilometres south, remain open year-round for wellness stays if you need an off-season Black Sea option near the same stretch of coast.
